oh the pondering mind. Sadly we can't back into our "dream" time when for a very short period of perhaps 4 weeks our "self" looks like a number of other embryo selves. Full of potential to become a snake, chicken, rabbit, pig, human. Then the ultrasound changes that, suddenly revealed is the definition of human.
Throughout my thinking life i've wondered about my "why" and the hereafter (what am i here after?). Being self-aware has too often been a road block to seeing what is the truly miraculous - that LIFE is a huge complex life form that encompasses all, through air, water and food. Humans seem to have this need to organize our world, basically divide Life into categories/boxes, and step back and say: look at what i made! Too bad we can't remember our real beginning but does a plant, a deer, earthworm? Yet once we enter this world the paperwork begins to denote our categories: parents (lineage of genes as well as ethnicity), sex, time, place, stamped with our footprint. We have found a place in culture. And so starts the dividing of our brain. The trick will be keeping alive the LIFE connection, that we are here as a human at this point in time, but not because we had a say in that path.
